Advent 2: Away From the Manger: A Christmas Pageant

A voice cries out: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  ~ Isaiah 40:3

On this second Sunday in Advent we hear both the urgent call of John the Baptist, and also the gospel presented through the presentation of our Christmas pageant, "Away From the Manger" by Elizabeth M. Topp. A few worshippers visited the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. But what about all those who stayed away? Their excuses are many and varied. The children and youth present this lighthearted yet challenging pageant, to help us all examine why we sometimes stay away from the manger. All are welcome!
