As the New Year begins, we meet Jesus at the beginning of his ministry. It all begins with baptism-- that meeting at the Jordan, when things go a little differently than expected, but when Jesus receives all he needs to begin his work. At the same time, we commission our church leaders for the year--ordaining and installing our deacons and ruling elders. We will also gather around the communion table for nourishment for the journey. You are invited! All are welcome.
