Join us on Ash Wednesday as we gather for Holden Evening Prayer (a lovely and singable service), a meditation, and the imposition of ashes for all who wish. This week's meditation will be our introduction to the series, "Sensing the Gospel," conceived by the Rev. Matt Skinner of Luther Theological Seminary in Minneapolis. Prof. Skinner writes,
We encounter God and God’s salvation in embodied ways -- in our bodies’ abilities to perceive familiar realities and to interpret new ones. Lent provides opportunities to acknowledge this. The season begins with smelly and greasy ash as a stark liturgical reminder of our flesh’s dusty finitude... Lent allows us to consider together who we are and how we encounter an incarnate God.
Please join us for dinner at 5:30 and Ash Wednesday evening prayer at 6:30! (More information is available under our "Events" tab).
