handbell choir

The English Handbells have been one of the most celebrated parts of Union Presbyterian Church since they were first purchased in 1964.  More than 50 years later, they continue as a beautiful part of our worship experience.  UPC's handbell choir includes 5 octaves of bronze handbells, and 4 octaves of melody chimes.

The keystone handbell choir at UPC are the Tower Ringers, comprised of a range of adults from the congregation.  Throughout the years, various beginner and intermediate choirs have coexisted alongside the Tower Ringers, targeting children from late primary school on through high school.

Our handbell choirs have been proudly directed by Claire Bombard since 1980.  She had led multiple UPC bell choirs through worship services, community performances, as well as regional and national conventions/concerts by the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (now known as Handbell Musicians of America).
